Taylor Richter, Founder & CEO
Taylor has always had an entrepreneurial spirit but often wondered what “working in business” really meant. She grew up around many professional women but rarely had the opportunity to speak with them about their experiences. Once she began to do so, she realized how empowering and enlightening it was to learn from the people she looked up to.
Taylor founded WomanPlusGirls to give young girls, like herself, the chance to inspire their futures through conversations with successful women. Through her experiences, she learned that engaging with professionals in the business world helped guide her own interests, so she wanted to create a resource for others to have the same opportunity.
Many high school students have hopes and dreams but do not have a clear path for achieving them. WomenPlusGirls enables students to observe, seek advice from, and talk about meaningful experiences with accomplished mentors.
Founding this organization was special to Taylor because it allowed her to merge her love for business and her desire to help others. In considering this network, she purposely chose to target high school girls as she noticed that most mentorships are for college-aged or older young adults. She believes mentoring is highly valuable at this young age because of the information and clarity it can give students before they need to make major life decisions.
